Cultivate What Matters: 2018 Goals

The new year. A fresh start. Dreaming, planning, and goal setting. In other words, a Type A's heaven.

This is my favorite time of year, and it's not because it's Christmastime (gasp!). It's because it's reflecting-on-the-year-past-and-planning-for-the-year-ahead time.

I want to say at the beginning of this post that this is NOT a sponsored post and no one is paying me to write these things. I just found something that I love and that has impacted me greatly and I want to share it with you.

Allow me to introduce you to Cultivate What Matters and the PowerSheets Intentional Goal Planner

I've been following Lara Casey (creator of the PowerSheets Goal Planner and Cultivate What Matters Lady Boss) for several years through her blog and social media channels, so I have been in the know about PowerSheets for a while. I was always intrigued by them, but never made the purchase because they are a somewhat pricey investment. This year, however, they came out with a 1 year intentional goal planner and I was hooked. It looked so beautiful and functional and inspirational! So, I took the plunge and spent my allowance on a PowerSheets One Year Intentional Goal Planner. And I am so glad I did.

The PowerSheets system takes you through some in-depth "prep work" before you even start deciding on your goals for the next year. I've now finished my prep work and I am so impressed and inspired by the depth and thoughtfulness of the simple questions and exercises that I was led through. Although this prep work may feel lengthy, I found that the exercises in the prep work were absolutely foundational for me to uncover what my 2018 goals were.

It was so helpful for me to uncover what is most important to me at this stage of my life and reflect on this past year. And the book is so INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL that it was a joy to fill out the pages. After I chose my goals for 2018 (I have 6) I found the goal action plan pages super helpful. On the action plan pages you break down each of your goals--you write down your "why", your motivation, action steps, and even rewards for when you achieve or make progress on the goal. This activity was so good for me! If you scroll through the pictures above you can find my 2018 goals and one of my action plans.

2018 Vision Board

Another great exercise from the PowerSheets planner was creating my 2018 Vision Board. I found all of my images for my board on Pinterest. I hope to look at this vision board for motivation and inspiration throughout the year.

Here's to 2018, friends!

I'd love to hear about your goals and plans for 2018, tell me in the comments below!
